JSU residence halls to remain open during spring break to promote ‘social distancing’

The Jacksonville State University Office of Housing and Residence Life announced on Tuesday morning that all residence halls will remain open for spring break. The university announced the day prior that spring break will be extended by two days, beginning Thursday, March 19.

JSU dining modifies operations

Dining services changes hours of operation, offers take-out meals to students who are social distancing

Jacksonville State University Dining Services announced Monday, March 16 that they are changing their service and operating hours for all on-campus dining locations, effective Thursday, March 19. The university will also accommodate students practicing “social distancing” by offering take-out options.

UPDATED: JSU says they have not received test results for student under investigation for COVID-19 after 48 hours

UPDATED: 6:50 p.m. MARCH 15, 2020 – The university announced in an email that 72 hours later, they have still not received test results for a student under investigation for COVID-19. The university said that the student’s condition is improving and that he will remain in isolation until official diagnostics have been received. The two students exposed to a COVID-19 patient never experienced any symptoms of the virus and their self-quarantine period has expired.

Jacksonville State University announced in an email on Saturday evening that they have not yet received test results from the student under investigation for COVID-19, after initially saying the test results would be received within 24-48 hours.
